Shirrako palm tree post fuels GTA 6 review copy rumor, but proves nothing
RUMOR
A single emoji post from YouTuber Shirrako has set off reports that he either holds an early GTA 6 copy or broke an agreement with Rockstar. The post contains no footage, no text and no mention of the game. Rockstar has not commented, and no evidence of a copy or a breach has surfaced.
What we know
The launch date is on the record. Take-Two’s fiscal Q1 2027 earnings release, filed with the SEC as a Form 8-K, lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a release date of November 19, 2026. Take-Two’s Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026 states the same planned date.
Rockstar released the first trailer on December 4, 2023 and the second on May 6, 2025. The game was delayed twice along the way, first to May 26, 2026 and then to the current November date.
Beyond the release date, nothing in the Shirrako story has been confirmed by Rockstar, Take-Two or Shirrako himself.
What is rumored

The claim began with a post. Notebookcheck, in a piece dated around October 26, 2026 and relayed by TalkEsport, GTA BOOM, Pasquale Pillitteri and ShiftDelete.Net, reports that Shirrako posted a controller emoji and a palm tree emoji. GTA BOOM describes only a single palm tree. Fans read the palm tree as a Vice City reference. The outlets disagree on what the post contained, and none gives its date. We rate this D: it is an inference from one social post, with no copy shown.
Headlines from iXBT.games and TalkEsport frame a second claim: that Shirrako broke an agreement or NDA with Rockstar. No named source or evidence backs it. TalkEsport itself says there is no proof he has the game or broke any agreement. Grade D.
Around the post sits a cluster of review-timing rumors. NateTheHate, answering a ResetEra thread, says Rockstar will send review codes to media before the end of October 2026, variously reported as by October 31. Notebookcheck and others describe him as a reliable insider with a solid track record, so this rates B. Rockstar has not announced it, and the chain runs partly through an Insider Gaming article that was reportedly deleted.
Insider Gaming reportedly learned in mid-October that reviews will go live before the November 19 launch, according to Notebookcheck. It did not publish its provisional embargo date. Grade B, known only secondhand.
ResetEra user BlackBate claims the embargo lifts on November 18 at about 6 to 7 AM ET, with some YouTube channels possibly waiting a day to post footage. BlackBate is unverified with no established track record. Grade D.
What we don’t know yet

Whether Shirrako has the game. He has shown no footage, and we found no statement from him or from Rockstar.
What the post actually said, and when it went up. The sources do not agree.
Whether review codes have gone out at all, and when any embargo lifts. Rockstar has announced neither.
Whether Rockstar will take legal action. No breach has been documented, and nothing in the reporting points to any action. Talk of lawsuits currently rests on a rumor about a rumor.
What it means

The suspicion has context. Notebookcheck, via Pasquale Pillitteri, describes Shirrako as a creator with about 2.6 million YouTube subscribers, known for full-game walkthroughs and with a history of revealing endings on or before release dates. Pasquale Pillitteri adds that he later announced extended GTA 6 coverage. A walkthrough channel planning launch coverage is ordinary business, not proof of early access.
GTA BOOM reports that Rockstar tightly controlled pre-release access, with only a small group of creators seeing hands-off demos at Rockstar North. We could not verify that.
The working read: one confirmed date, several plausible timing rumors, and one emoji. Until Rockstar, Take-Two or Shirrako says something, treat the review copy and the NDA story as noise.
