BofA reportedly cuts Take-Two target to $330 but says stay long through GTA 6
CONFIRMED
BofA Securities analyst Omar Dessouky has reportedly lowered his Take-Two price target to $330 from $368 while keeping a Buy rating, according to a research note relayed by StreetInsider, Investing.com and TipRanks/TheFly. The note, which neither BofA nor Take-Two has verified, tells investors to stay long TTWO through the Grand Theft Auto VI launch. That launch remains set for November 19, 2026, per Take-Two’s own SEC filing.
What we know
Take-Two’s fiscal Q1 2027 earnings release, filed with the SEC on Form 8-K, lists GTA VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a release date of November 19, 2026.
The date has moved twice. Variety reported the first delay in May 2025, from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. GameSpot reported that on November 6, 2025, Take-Two confirmed with its earnings report a second slip to November 19, 2026, and Rockstar posted a statement naming Thursday, November 19, 2026. CEO Strauss Zelnick told IGN the team was grateful the game was still within the same fiscal year.
Zelnick has since reaffirmed the date in Take-Two’s earnings report. He said fiscal 2027 should set new record levels of operating performance, driven by the GTA VI launch.
What is rumored

The BofA note was reported on October 27, 2026. BofA has not published it officially, and the outlets carrying it are standard analyst-rating relays rather than confirmed sources. Treat the details as reported, not verified.
According to those reports, the note states: “We recommend being long TTWO through the GTA 6 launch.” It reportedly says the stock “remains cheap” on long-term growth and acknowledges investor worry about a post-launch FY29 earnings “air pocket.” BofA’s counterargument, as relayed, is that GTA Online monetization is the key long-term driver. The note reportedly puts the valuation at 16x BofA’s FY28 EPS forecast.
Investing.com reports that the note expects a GTA Online launch in calendar Q1 2027. That is BofA’s projection. Rockstar has not announced a GTA Online date.
Dessouky is BofA’s long-time Take-Two analyst. TheFly previously reported an earlier target change from him, to $135 from $120. A TipRanks headline shown on CNN’s TTWO page carried the $330 figure on October 23.
For context, Investing.com reported other October targets: StoneX at Buy with $300, Raymond James at Strong Buy with $300, and JPMorgan at Overweight with $310. Ad-hoc-news reported Freedom Capital Markets reiterating Buy at $293. None of these are confirmed. Taken at face value, BofA’s reduced figure still sits above every one of them.
Investing.com and StreetInsider put TTWO at about $203.35 with a market cap near $38B at the time of the cut. Those figures were not independently verified. CNN’s TTWO page showed the stock near the bottom of its 52-week range and below its 200-day moving average.
Separately, a former Rockstar developer warned in August 2026 that GTA VI could still slip into 2027. That claim comes from a single unverified source, relayed by Shattered.io citing Metro. Take-Two has reaffirmed November 19 and has announced no further delay.
What we don’t know yet

The relayed excerpts do not spell out what drove the $38 reduction. BofA has not commented publicly.
GTA Online’s timing is unannounced. The Q1 2027 window exists only in an analyst forecast.
Pricing is unconfirmed. A secondary site, expertgamereviews.com, reported $79.99 Standard and $99.99 Ultimate editions with pre-orders opening June 25, 2026. That has not been checked against a primary source.
Take-Two’s next update is also unverified. Shattered.io reported fiscal Q2 2027 earnings as scheduled for November 9, 2026, ten days before launch. Shattered.io also reported a GTA VI launch trailer around October 15. Neither has been checked against a primary source.
What it means

The reported BofA thesis is less about launch week and more about what follows. The bear concern is an earnings dip in FY29 once the initial sales wave passes. BofA’s reported answer is that GTA Online keeps the revenue running, and it expects proof early in 2027.
That makes the online component the variable to watch, and Rockstar has said nothing about its timing. Until it does, the Q1 2027 window is a forecast.
The hard facts are narrow. Take-Two’s filing and Zelnick’s statements both point to November 19, 2026. Everything about targets, valuation and online timing is analyst opinion relayed through unconfirmed channels. Read it accordingly.
