Miami ‘GTA 6 is a month away’ signs are unverified, and Rockstar has not commented

CONFIRMED

Photos of a Miami roadside message reading “Don’t Drink & Drive. GTA 6 Is A Month Away.” went viral on Saturday, October 24, 2026. No official source has confirmed that the signs exist, who paid for them, or that Rockstar Games is behind them. As of October 25, Rockstar has not commented publicly.

What we know

The date is solid. Take-Two Interactive’s Q1 fiscal 2027 earnings release, filed with the SEC as a Form 8-K, lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a release date of November 19, 2026. Bloomberg reports that Take-Two confirmed that date on May 21, 2026, in response to fears of another delay.

Rockstar confirmed the launch window with its own material. The GTA VI Launch Trailer went live on October 15, 2026, and Rockstar Newswire lists it on the same page as a Rockstar Store GTA VI collection dated October 8. Kotaku reported that Rockstar dropped the trailer without any teasing, with the November 19 date attached.

For context, timelines from fan sites Happy Gamer and Rockstar Report trace two delays. The first moved the game from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. The second, announced with Take-Two’s results on November 6, 2025, moved it to November 19.

The sign’s arithmetic holds up. October 24 to November 19 is 26 days, so “a month away” is roughly accurate.

What is rumored

The signs. The earliest post we found is from @InternetH0F on X on October 24, describing “digital billboards.” @gtasix_ calls it a highway sign. @charlieINTEL, a large GTA news account with a mixed track record, posted it the same day. XboxDynasty relayed a Reddit post by u/itsOnlyMarvin. All of this is single-source social posting, graded D. The accounts disagree on whether this is a highway sign or a billboard, and no photo has been independently verified. XboxDynasty also notes it is unclear whether the ads could have been manipulated.

The Rockstar link. The Source Magazine frames the messaging as part of an official Rockstar real-world campaign. No Rockstar statement supports that. Happy Gamer says nothing in the posts connects the sign to Rockstar. Treat The Source’s version as framing, not confirmation.

The parody ads. This lead is stronger, though still unconfirmed. GTABoom reports parody GTA 6 brand ads on Miami kiosks, first spotted by creator Joel Franco. Output Lag reports Clear Channel billboards, one carrying the November 19 date, based on a Reddit post by u/Snak3D0ct0r. Both outlets rely on community photos from mid-to-late October and credit Rockstar or its marketing partners. The claim is plausible, but Rockstar has not confirmed it.

The wider Miami push. Secondary aggregators, including Yahoo and GamesRadar, relay reports that IGN and GameSpot covered a Miami Beach marketing deal and a “Welcome to Vice City” sign at Kaseya Center. GameSpot reportedly put that sign’s placement agreement at about $975,000, and some local commissioners reportedly raised concerns about the campaign. We have not reviewed the original IGN or GameSpot articles, so these details stay in the secondhand column.

What we don’t know yet

  • Whether the drink-drive signs exist, where they stand, and whether they are highway signs or commercial billboards.
  • Who paid for them, if anyone did.
  • Whether Rockstar, Take-Two or a marketing partner had any involvement. Rockstar has not commented.
  • Whether the kiosk and Clear Channel parody ads were placed by Rockstar.
  • What else is planned in Miami. Rockstar has announced no schedule of real-world events or placements for the city.

What it means

For players, nothing changes. Take-Two’s filing and Bloomberg’s reporting both pin the release to November 19, 2026, and Rockstar’s own trailer carries the same date.

The signs spread because they look exactly like something Rockstar would do in the city that inspired Vice City. Looking right is not evidence. The drink-drive message is the weakest item in this file: anonymous posts, conflicting descriptions, and no verified photo. The parody kiosk and billboard ads sit on firmer ground but still rest on fan-site reporting.

Until Rockstar or a major outlet confirms otherwise, file the drink-drive signs under unverified and assume nothing about who put them up.

His beat is everything attached to the next game: release windows, launch details, official trailers, platform plans and the steady drip of leaks that fills the gap between Rockstar announcements. He treats every claim as a question of sourcing first. A Take-Two earnings call or a Rockstar Newswire post gets reported as fact. A datamine or a tipster with a mixed record gets labeled as such. When a story shifts, he updates the piece and says what changed rather than quietly rewriting it. Readers should always be able to tell what is confirmed and what is still talk.
