GTA 6 Paris banner edited to cut two guns while US murals keep them, per Kotaku
CONFIRMED
Rockstar’s real-world GTA 6 campaign has reached the Paris skyline, and the artwork there is not quite the cover art. Kotaku reports that the massive banner now wrapped around one of the Les Mercuriales towers has had two guns edited out, while murals in the US, including New York, still show their weapons. Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports place a “Vice City” blimp over Miami and GTA 6-branded umbrellas on South Beach.
What we know
Kotaku (Zack Zwiezen) reports that over roughly two weeks, people online tracked a huge GTA 6 banner going up on one of the Les Mercuriales towers in Paris. The banner recreates the GTA 6 cover art.
With two exceptions. Per Kotaku, Lucia’s gun in the top-middle image of her and Jason is gone, and her hand was removed along with it. In the bottom-middle image, the assault rifle from the official cover art is also missing. The character’s hand is still raised, with nothing in front of it.
Kotaku notes that other GTA 6 banners and murals in the US, such as the one in New York, keep their guns. A Gaming Route summary of the Kotaku piece says the same.
Rockstar has not explained the edit. No Rockstar statement appears in Kotaku’s report, and we found none elsewhere.
One correction to the headline language circulating online: Kotaku’s headline says the Paris banner censors “all of the guns,” but the article itself describes two removals, Lucia’s pistol and one rifle. We are going with the article text.
On the calendar side, Take-Two’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, states Rockstar will release Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, 2026, and that pre-orders began in June 2026. That filing is the firmest ground in this briefing.
What is rumored

The Miami side of the campaign is louder and less verified.
RockstarINTEL, GTAVice.net and GTABoom, all fan-news sites, report that a Goodyear blimp (Wingfoot Three, N3A) wearing a GTA 6 “Vice City” livery is flying to Florida as a Rockstar stunt. Their basis is photos posted by members of a Goodyear Blimp Fan Club Facebook group, one of whom said the ship was scheduled to fly from Akron, Ohio to Pompano Beach, Florida. These sites cite verifiable photos and FlightAware tracking, but neither Rockstar nor Goodyear has confirmed anything. GTAVice.net itself says Rockstar has not commented. A Gfinity article labels the blimp “Status: Confirmed” without citing any official source, so we are not treating it as confirmed.
A claim that the blimp actually flew over Miami on Thursday, Oct 15, rests on a single Facebook post with no named author. Earlier social posts offer only partial tracking: by Oct 13, @GTAVI_Countdown had posted that the Vice City blimp “has just arrived in Florida,” and a reply in that thread from X user @LeonidaBeaches placed it south of Orlando. Treat the Miami flyover as unverified.
GTABoom also reports, citing local reporter Joel Franco’s Oct 14 video and photos, that umbrellas with the “VI” logo and “Vice City” chairs have arrived on South Beach, rolled up in secure boxes on the sand. A worker reportedly told Franco they would go up this weekend. That timeline is secondhand and unconfirmed, and Rockstar has not announced the branding.
Adding a wrinkle, GTABoom says the Miami Beach/Amplify contract for the beach branding may still be unsigned and likely missed its Oct 15 target. TweakTown calls the deal approved. The two reports conflict, and neither outlet is on our approved list.
What we don’t know yet

Why Paris lost its guns. Rockstar has given no reason, and Kotaku offers none. Whether the change ties to local advertising rules or a Rockstar decision is an open question.
Whether the blimp, the umbrellas and the broader Miami push are official Rockstar operations. Background reporting from outlets outside our list points that way: Miami Beach commissioners reportedly voted 4-3 on Sep 10 to let the city manager negotiate GTA 6 branding on Boucher Brothers chairs and umbrellas from Oct 15 to Dec 31, CBS Miami reported a “Welcome to Vice City” sign on the Kaseya Center roof in late September, and Yahoo Sports reported the Miami Heat’s “A Night in Vice City” for Nov 18. None of this has been confirmed by Rockstar or by an approved-list outlet.
What it means

The Paris edit is the second regional adjustment Kotaku has flagged. In August and September, Kotaku reported that Rockstar and Take-Two blurred parts of the extended GTA 6 trailer on China’s Bilibili, again with no stated reason. Two cases do not make a policy, but they do show the campaign bends to local conditions rather than running one global template.
Miami is the opposite problem: lots of sightings, little paper. Until Rockstar, Goodyear or an outlet with a track record confirms the blimp and the beach gear, they stay in the rumor column, however many photos circulate. Launch is Nov 19 per Take-Two’s filing. Expect more sightings, and verify each one.
