GTA 6 beer labels approved by US regulator, but no sale date is confirmed

CONFIRMED

Three GTA-branded beers have cleared a US federal label review, IGN reports, in a find first spotted by fan site iGrandTheftAuto. The labels belong to Florida’s Tripping Animals Brewing and cover Pißwasser, Patriot and a new brand, No Mames Vice City. Nobody has confirmed when, where or whether the beers will reach a shelf.

What we know

IGN reports that the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) approved labels for three GTA-related beers. A caveat on sourcing: this desk could not open IGN’s original page, so the details here come from a Mezha write-up, dated 20 October 2026, that credits IGN.

Per that report, all three beers are made by Tripping Animals Brewing in Florida. The brands are Pißwasser, Patriot and No Mames Vice City. IGN says No Mames Vice City is a 6% ABV lager, while Patriot Beer and Pißwasser each come in at 4.2% ABV.

Pißwasser and Patriot are returning names from earlier GTA games. Pißwasser Nein also appeared in GTA 6 Trailer 1 on 4 December 2023, according to IGN’s trailer breakdown as relayed by a secondary site. No Mames Vice City is the newcomer.

As of 20 October 2026, neither Rockstar Games nor Tripping Animals Brewing has announced a collaboration. This desk found no statement on Rockstar Newswire, from Take-Two or from the brewery.

GTA 6 is set to release on 19 November 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PS5.

Fan site iGrandTheftAuto, which first found the labels, reports specific approval dates from the TTB records: Pißwasser on 29 September 2026, No Mames Vice City on 9 October 2026 and Patriot on 15 October 2026. Dexerto and GTAVice.net repeated those dates. iGrandTheftAuto is an established fan-news site and the TTB database is public, so the dates can be checked directly. Until they are, treat them as unverified.

iGrandTheftAuto and GTAVice.net also point out that the No Mames Vice City label carries GTA VI branding, and both read that as a link to the game. The branding is on the label. It does not show that Rockstar licensed the product.

A post from the X account @GTAVI_Countdown on 20 October 2026 claims Rockstar is “reportedly” releasing the beers in real life. The post aggregates other outlets’ coverage of the same TTB find, cites no Rockstar confirmation and adds no independent sourcing.

What we don’t know yet

The short list of unknowns is most of the story. There is no confirmed sale date, no price and no confirmed distribution area. Dexerto, reporting the same TTB find, notes it is unclear whether the beers would sell nationwide or only in Florida. Any claim of a specific retail launch is unsupported.

IGN floated one possibility: sales only at bars in and around Miami. That is IGN’s speculation, not a distribution plan anyone has announced.

Rockstar’s role is also unconfirmed. A brewery holding approved labels with GTA branding is not the same as a licensing deal on the record.

A TTB label approval is a federal regulatory clearance for a label. On its own, it does not confirm a retail release date or distribution. Breweries clear labels for many reasons, and an approval file is not a launch announcement.

The timing still invites attention. The approvals land weeks before launch, and Dexerto has reported a $4 million Rockstar campaign to turn parts of Miami into Vice City. A Miami-area beer tie-in would fit that pattern, though no source on file connects the two.

One possible point of confusion: Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told IGN that GTA 6 will not include real-world product placements, as reported via Notebookcheck around early October 2026. That remark concerns in-game placement. It says nothing either way about real-world merchandise or beer.

Bottom line: the labels are real, according to IGN. Whether the beers ever ship, and with whose blessing, remains unconfirmed. Watch for a statement from Rockstar or Tripping Animals before treating any release as more than paperwork.

His beat is everything attached to the next game: release windows, launch details, official trailers, platform plans and the steady drip of leaks that fills the gap between Rockstar announcements. He treats every claim as a question of sourcing first. A Take-Two earnings call or a Rockstar Newswire post gets reported as fact. A datamine or a tipster with a mixed record gets labeled as such. When a story shifts, he updates the piece and says what changed rather than quietly rewriting it. Readers should always be able to tell what is confirmed and what is still talk.
