Every GTA 6 trailer, what each one revealed and what trailer 3 could show
Rockstar has published exactly two Grand Theft Auto VI trailers: Trailer 1 on 4 December 2023 and Trailer 2 on 6 May 2025, and no third has been announced. Here is what each one showed frame by frame, which claims around them are verified, and what the studio’s own release cadence suggests about when you see Trailer 3.
What we know
GTA 6 Trailer 1 (4 December 2023)
Rockstar had scheduled the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer for 9am Eastern on 5 December 2023, but a copy appeared on X the evening before, and the studio was forced to publish the official upload early with a terse note about the leak. The 91-second clip opened on Lucia in an orange prison jumpsuit telling a counsellor she was in there through bad luck, then cut across the state of Leonida to Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road,” and it closed on a title card reading “Coming 2025.”
What you actually learned from Trailer 1, stripped of hype: the setting is Leonida, a fictional Florida, with Vice City back as the main urban hub; the protagonist is Lucia, the first female lead in a 3D-era Grand Theft Auto; a male partner (unnamed at the time) joins her in a store robbery in the final shot; and the tone leans hard on social media parody, with phone-shaped vertical clips of a woman twerking on a moving car, a man wielding hammers in the street, an alligator wandering through a convenience store and a face-tattooed meme figure fans immediately nicknamed the Florida Joker. The trailer passed 90.4 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours, a record for a non-music video that Guinness later certified at 90,421,491 views (YouTube’s own announcement put the Rockstar Games channel figure at 93 million), and it has sat above 250 million since.
The density of static detail in those 91 seconds is why the “gta 6 mapping” community exists at all; the mall, the Keys causeway and the Vice City skyline in that trailer were enough to begin plotting a map long before Rockstar named any district.
GTA 6 Trailer 2 (6 May 2025)
Trailer 2 arrived with zero warning, four days after Take-Two had moved the game from Fall 2025 to 26 May 2026, and it is the single richest piece of GTA 6 media so far. It runs about two minutes 47 seconds, set to the Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together,” and Rockstar told press it was captured entirely on PlayStation 5 and built from equal parts gameplay and cutscenes. That line matters, because it means the convertible drives, the Grassrivers airboat run and the beach crowds you see are representative of the console build and not pre-rendered target footage.
The trailer and the accompanying website drop confirmed the second protagonist as Jason Duval, an ex-Army drifter working for Keys drug runner Brian Heder, and named Lucia in full as Lucia Caminos, a Liberty City native whose father taught her to fight and who leaves prison in this trailer rather than entering it. Rockstar also introduced the supporting cast: Cal Hampton, Jason’s conspiracy-minded friend who sits on police scanners; Boobie Ike, a Vice City strip club and record label owner; promoter Dre’Quan Priest; rap duo Real Dimez; veteran bank robber Raul Bautista; and Heder and his ex-wife Lori. Confirmed regions beyond Vice City are the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Mount Kalaga National Park, Ambrosia and Port Gellhorn, which is the backbone of any current “gta 6 map” breakdown.
Take-Two reported 475 million views across all platforms within 24 hours of Trailer 2, the largest launch for any video in its history. Note that the “May 26, 2026” end card is now stale: on 6 November 2025 Take-Two pushed the game again, to 19 November 2026, citing polish. The trailer was not re-cut.

What is rumored
Trailer 3 timing. No insider with a track record has produced a date we would print, so treat every “Trailer 3 this month” post as speculation. The only grounded signal is Rockstar’s own pattern: Red Dead Redemption 2 got Trailer 1 in October 2016, Trailer 2 in September 2017, Trailer 3 in May 2018 and a gameplay video that August, ahead of an October 2018 launch; GTA V’s third wave (character trailers, then the gameplay video) landed four to five months before release. Applied to a 19 November 2026 launch, that points to a window of roughly spring to midsummer 2026. Credibility call: RUMOR, pattern-based, not sourced.
Trailer 3 will be gameplay-led. Fans expect a narrated gameplay showcase in the RDR2 style. Rockstar has said nothing. Credibility call: RUMOR, plausible on precedent only.

Pricing at $80 to $100. Rockstar has officially priced GTA 6 at $80 for the Standard Edition and $100 for the Ultimate Edition, and Take-Two’s Strauss Zelnick confirmed and defended that pricing on the company’s Q1 FY27 earnings call on 7 August 2026. A PC version. Both trailers list PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. GTA V reached PC 18 months after consoles and RDR2 took 13 months. Credibility call: Not announced; a later port is likely on precedent but has no official status.
DEBUNKED: Any “Trailer 3” video circulating now is fan-made or assembled from the September 2022 development-build leak. Rockstar has released no third trailer.
What it means
You have seen roughly four and a half minutes of Leonida across two trailers, and the second one was explicitly half gameplay, so the realistic open questions for Trailer 3 are mechanical: how the two-protagonist switching works, whether the social media feed is a live in-world system, what the phone and economy look like, and how much of the story runs outside Vice City. The second release delay also reset the marketing clock, which is why the quiet since May 2025 is normal rather than alarming; Rockstar historically goes dark between beats. For anything hinging on the “release date for gta 6,” the only number that counts is 19 November 2026 until Take-Two says otherwise.
