Insider Gaming: Rockstar appears behind GTA 6 style cars on Miami streets
CONFIRMED
Insider Gaming reported on Oct 16, 2026 that real-world cars dressed up as GTA 6 vehicles were spotted on Miami streets, including a Coquette-style car in a Vice City wrap and a Lamborghini in Vice Beach Police livery. The outlet says Rockstar only “appears” to be behind the convoy. Rockstar has issued no statement, and the claim that the studio itself staged the drive rests on a single Instagram story relayed by fan accounts.

What we know
Insider Gaming’s Oct 16 report carried images of two vehicles on Miami streets: a Coquette-style car wrapped in Vice City branding and a Lamborghini finished in Vice Beach Police livery. That is the hard core of this story. The cars exist, they were photographed in Miami, and a B-grade outlet published the pictures.
Insider Gaming stops short of attribution. Its wording is that Rockstar “appears” to be behind the display. Rockstar has not confirmed involvement.
The same report frames the cars as part of a wider Miami push. Insider Gaming lists a Vice City-themed blimp and a stadium takeover as earlier moves in that campaign, though it does not tie the blimp to Rockstar through any official statement.
One correction worth making early: these are not “real GTA 6 cars.” Insider Gaming points out that Lamborghini itself will not feature in GTA 6. Rockstar uses real cars only as inspiration for its fictional supercars, and the Coquette is its take on the Corvette. What drove through Miami were production vehicles wrapped or modified to resemble in-game designs.
The stadium piece of the campaign is on firmer ground. The Miami Herald first reported, and Forbes also reported, that Rockstar paid Miami-Dade County $975,000 for the “Welcome to Vice City” sign installed by helicopter on the Kaseya Center roof on Sept 22, 2026. CBS Miami covered the installation but said it was not immediately clear what agreement was reached. Forbes says it stays up until April 2027. The Miami Heat announced “A Night in Vice City” for Nov 18, 2026 against the Milwaukee Bucks, with a special court and uniform, per Yahoo Sports. GTA 6 launches the following day, Nov 19, on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
What is rumored
The claim that Rockstar put the cars on the road traces back to GTASixInfo, a fan-run X account that aggregates social posts. It cited an Instagram story from a user who photographed the convoy, and the claim was relayed by @videotech and WillMacGTA before Insider Gaming picked it up. The cars reportedly carried Leonida-style plates said to match those in an earlier Suzuki tease. This is single-source and unverified by Rockstar, and even the first posts used the word “appears.”
VGTimes and 7MMO, secondary aggregators working from social clips including Only in Dade footage, claim the convoy was larger: a McLaren styled like the Progen Emerus, plus cars resembling the Cheetah, Coquette D10, Tempesta and Manana. They say it stopped at a gas station. The vehicle identifications are fan matches, not official, and neither outlet is on our approved list.
The blimp is a separate thread. Goodyear Blimp Fan Club Facebook posts, carried by RockstarINTEL and GTAVice.net, say the Goodyear blimp N3A, Wingfoot Three, flew over Miami in Vice City / GTA VI livery on Thursday, Oct 15. Fan groups first photographed the blimp departing the Akron area of Ohio on Oct 12, heading toward Pompano Beach, Florida. FlightAware lists Goodyear as owner, so the aircraft is verifiable. Rockstar involvement is inferred from the livery alone. No Rockstar or Goodyear statement was found, and one report says neither has published a route.
IGN ran a headline citing a “Lambo police cruiser with Leonida plates” and saying Rockstar drove the cars through Miami. We could not retrieve the article text, so we cannot confirm whether IGN attributes this to Rockstar or to fan sightings. Treat it as unverified.
What we don’t know yet

Whether Rockstar or Take-Two commissioned the convoy. No Newswire post or corporate statement exists as of Oct 16.
How many cars were involved, and whether the drive was a one-off or a recurring circuit. Reports of a gas station stop are social-clip hearsay.
Whether the blimp will keep flying over Miami, and on what schedule. Nobody has published a route.
What it means
Taken together, the confirmed pieces show a marketing footprint that is already unusual for a game launch: a near-million-dollar rooftop sign, an NBA tie-in on launch eve, and city permits for oversized banners. GTAVice.net reports a City of Miami proposal allowing promotional displays from Oct 15 to Dec 31, which lines up with the timing of the car and blimp sightings. Forbes reports a “Vice City Airport” takeover was rejected and some Miami-Dade commissioners objected to the game’s violence, so the campaign has limits.
For anyone hoping to spot the cars, the honest answer is that there is no published schedule. Sightings so far come from street-level social posts in Miami. Until Rockstar says otherwise, the convoy stays filed as an apparent campaign, not a confirmed one.
