GTA 6 radio stations and soundtrack: what we know

Rockstar has not announced a single GTA 6 radio station yet. Two licensed songs are confirmed through the official trailers: Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road” and The Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together.” Every station name, DJ and tracklist circulating online is unconfirmed. Below, we separate the official record from fan speculation and grade each rumor by source.

Last checked: this briefing reflects official Rockstar and Take-Two information through Trailer 2 and the November 2025 delay announcement. We update this page as launch details land, including any station reveal, soundtrack album or store listing change.

GTA 6 radio stations: the short answer

Here is where things stand. Rockstar has not published a station list, a station count, a DJ lineup or a genre breakdown for Grand Theft Auto VI. Take-Two has not discussed the soundtrack on any earnings call we have tracked. No platform holder or store listing has mentioned radio either.

What we do have is the music Rockstar chose for its own marketing. That is two songs across two trailers, both from the 1980s. We also have character profiles on Rockstar’s official GTA VI site that place the music business right inside the story.

Anything beyond that is rumor, inference or fabrication. Plenty of sites present “GTA 6 radio stations” as finished tracklists, sometimes with a playable radio player attached. None of those lists come from Rockstar.

Confirmed songs from the official trailers

Rockstar has released two full trailers for GTA 6. Each one is built around a single licensed track, and both songs became cultural moments within hours.

Trailer Release Song Artist Original release Status
Trailer 1 4 December 2023 (released early after leaking; planned for 5 December) “Love Is a Long Road” Tom Petty 1989, Full Moon Fever CONFIRMED in trailer
Trailer 2 6 May 2025 “Hot Together” The Pointer Sisters 1986, Hot Together CONFIRMED in trailer

There is an important caveat about the “Status” column. A song appearing in a trailer confirms that Rockstar licensed it for marketing. It does not confirm the song is on an in-game radio station. History suggests it probably will be, which we cover in the What it means section. Until Rockstar publishes a tracklist, though, neither track is confirmed as playable radio content.

For a beat-by-beat breakdown of both videos, our “gta 6 trailer” coverage tracks every frame and what a third trailer might reveal.

“Love Is a Long Road” by Tom Petty

Trailer 1 opens on Lucia in a Leonida prison and cuts to the Vice City she and Jason are about to tear through. The soundtrack is “Love Is a Long Road,” the album track from Tom Petty’s first solo record, Full Moon Fever. Petty co-wrote it with Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell.

The choice surprised a lot of people. Full Moon Fever produced bigger singles, such as “Free Fallin'” and “I Won’t Back Down.” Rockstar picked a deep cut instead, which matches its long habit of avoiding the most obvious song by an artist.

The release itself has a leak story attached. The trailer appeared on social media in low quality hours before its scheduled debut, and Rockstar responded by posting the official version early on the evening of 4 December 2023. Outlets including IGN and The Verge reported the early drop at the time. That leak concerned the trailer video only. It did not reveal any radio content.

Music press and chart trackers reported a sharp rise in streams for the song in the days after the trailer. That spike became a template for what happened with Trailer 2.

“Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters

Trailer 2 arrived on 6 May 2025, days after Rockstar confirmed the first delay. It ran on “Hot Together,” the title track from The Pointer Sisters’ 1986 album. Like the Tom Petty pick, it is a lesser-known song from a famous act. The Pointer Sisters are better remembered for “Jump (For My Love)” and “I’m So Excited.”

The song fits the trailer’s tone. Trailer 2 leans into the Jason and Lucia partnership, so a track about two people burning bright together does a lot of narrative work. It also keeps the series anchored in a 1980s sound, which is notable because GTA 6 is set in the present day.

Coverage after Trailer 2 again noted a streaming surge for the track. We are not quoting figures here because the reported numbers varied between outlets and none came from a primary chart source we could cross-check.

Music inside the story: Only Raw Records and Real Dimez

This is the angle most radio roundups skip. Rockstar’s official GTA VI website, updated alongside Trailer 2, introduced supporting characters, and several of them are music-industry figures. That is CONFIRMED content from Rockstar itself.

  • Dre’Quan Priest runs Only Raw Records, a Vice City label. Rockstar’s profile frames him as a hustler who moved into the music business.
  • Real Dimez is a rap duo, Bae-Luxe and Roxy, connected to Dre’Quan’s label. Their profile frames them as artists who previously had a viral moment and are pushing for a bigger career.
  • Boobie Ike is a Vice City business figure whose profile ties him to Dre’Quan’s operation.

This matters for radio in a practical way. GTA games have featured fictional in-world artists before, and a story that revolves partly around a record label gives Rockstar an obvious reason to produce original in-universe music. We would be surprised if Real Dimez tracks did not surface somewhere in the game, either on a station or through story missions. That is our inference, not a confirmed feature, so treat it accordingly.

What Rockstar has not said

To be precise about the gaps, Rockstar and Take-Two have not confirmed any of the following:

  • How many radio stations GTA 6 will have
  • Any station name, including returning Vice City brands
  • Any DJ or radio host
  • Any talk radio content
  • Whether a Self Radio or custom music mode returns
  • Whether players can skip tracks on standard stations
  • Any official soundtrack album, vinyl or CD release

Rockstar’s music team is led by its longtime music and audio director Ivan Pavlovich, who has overseen the studio’s licensed soundtracks for years. Rockstar has not made him or anyone else available to discuss GTA 6 music publicly.

What is rumored

This is where most of the noise lives. We have graded the major claims using our standard scale: official, proven reporter, community or datamine, and anonymous or mixed record.

Claim Source type Our grade Our call
Specific station names and full tracklists Fan sites and fan-made “radio players” Community, not datamined DEBUNKED as official; these are fan creations
A precise station count (various numbers circulate) Anonymous social posts, no evidence Anonymous or mixed record RUMOR with no supporting evidence
Named artists recording exclusive songs for the game Unverified social posts and comment threads Anonymous or mixed record RUMOR; nothing confirmed by Rockstar or the artists’ labels
The 2022 leaked development footage revealed the soundtrack Misreading of what the leak showed Contradicted by reporting DEBUNKED
Flash FM, V-Rock and other Vice City stations return Fan expectation based on series history Community speculation RUMOR; plausible, unconfirmed
“Leaked” AI-generated DJ clips and station idents Anonymous uploads No credible source DEBUNKED

Fan tracklists and radio player sites

Several of the pages that rank for “gta 6 radio stations” offer playable stations with names, genres and full song lists. Some are labeled as fan concepts. Others present them in a way that reads as official.

Our position is simple. No datamine of a GTA 6 build has been published by a reputable outlet, because no public build exists. So any detailed tracklist is either a fan’s wish list or a remix of GTA V and Vice City stations with new branding. They can be fun to listen to. They are not intelligence.

Artist claims

Every so often a musician, producer or someone claiming to be close to one posts that their track is “in GTA 6.” These claims tend to spread fast and get deleted faster. None we have seen has come with confirmation from Rockstar, Take-Two or a record label.

A licensing deal for a game this size would sit behind strict confidentiality agreements. An artist publicly confirming a placement before Rockstar does would be unusual. We treat every such claim as anonymous-grade until the artist’s label or Rockstar backs it up.

The 2022 leak

In September 2022, a hacker released a large batch of early GTA 6 development clips. Major outlets including Bloomberg and The Verge reported on the breach, and Rockstar acknowledged it publicly. Those clips showed work-in-progress gameplay and debug tools.

Reporting on the leak did not identify a radio tracklist, station names or licensed music. We are not going to describe the clips further or point anyone toward them. Claims that “the leak revealed the soundtrack” do not match what reputable coverage described.

AI-generated “leaks”

A newer problem is synthetic audio. Fake DJ intros, station jingles and even “unreleased tracks” generated with AI voice tools circulate on video platforms with titles promising leaked GTA 6 radio. They have no credible source, and several mimic the voices of real hosts from earlier GTA games.

Quick steps: check a GTA 6 radio claim

  1. Look for the claim on Rockstar Newswire or Rockstar’s official social accounts first.
  2. Check whether a proven reporter or a major outlet has independently verified it.
  3. If an artist made the claim, see whether their label has confirmed it.
  4. Treat any “full tracklist” with no named, credible source as fan content.
  5. Ignore audio that only exists as an anonymous upload.

Heads up

Sites and apps promising a “leaked GTA 6 soundtrack download” or early radio files are a common malware vector. Nothing official has been released, so there is nothing legitimate to download.

What it means

With so little on the record, the useful work is reading Rockstar’s habits. Everything in this section is our analysis based on how past GTA games handled music. None of it is confirmed for GTA 6.

Trailer songs usually make it onto the radio

Rockstar has a track record of putting trailer music into the game. The GTA IV trailer “Things Will Be Different” used Philip Glass’s “Pruit Igoe” from Koyaanisqatsi, and that piece showed up on The Journey, an ambient station in the final game. In GTA V, “Sleepwalking” by The Chain Gang of 1974 featured in a trailer and later played on Radio Mirror Park.

So we expect “Love Is a Long Road” and “Hot Together” to be playable in some form, most likely on a classic rock station and a pop or soul station respectively. That expectation is strong, but it stays an expectation until a tracklist drops.

Agent's note

Both trailer songs are 1980s deep cuts by major acts. That pattern points to at least one throwback station built on the same principle: famous names, less obvious songs.

Will Vice City’s classic stations return?

Vice City (2002) gave the series some of its most beloved station brands. Flash FM played 1980s pop, V-Rock handled metal and hard rock, Wave 103 covered new wave, Fever 105 ran disco and funk, Emotion 98.3 played power ballads, Wildstyle carried early hip hop and electro, and Radio Espantoso played Latin jazz and salsa. Talk stations VCPR and K-Chat filled out the dial.

Rockstar has recycled radio brands across universes before. Radio Los Santos, for instance, appeared in both San Andreas and GTA V. Bringing back Flash FM or V-Rock for a modern Vice City would be a natural nod. We put the odds of at least one returning brand as good, but this is fan expectation, not a leak.

Genres we would expect from Leonida

Leonida is Rockstar’s version of Florida, and Vice City is its Miami. Rockstar’s official site and trailers have shown the city alongside other regions such as the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. A soundtrack that reflects that state would plausibly cover:

  • Hip hop and Southern rap, especially given the Only Raw Records storyline
  • Latin music, including reggaeton and Latin trap, reflecting Miami’s huge Latin population
  • Caribbean genres such as dancehall, kompa and salsa
  • Miami bass and freestyle, both genres with deep roots in South Florida
  • Classic rock and 1980s pop, signaled by both trailer choices
  • Country, for the rural stretches north of the Vice City metro area
  • Electronic and dance, a nod to Miami’s club scene

We would expect multiple stations with Latin programming specifically. GTA IV had San Juan Sounds for reggaeton and GTA V had East Los FM for Mexican music, so a Latin presence in a Miami-based game is close to certain. Which genres get dedicated stations, however, is Not announced.

Radio features: skip, Self Radio and custom music

Players regularly ask whether they will be able to skip songs. In GTA V, standard radio stations do not let you skip tracks, because each station runs like a real broadcast. Self Radio, added in the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions, let players skip, shuffle and set a radio mode for their own music. On PC that pulls from local files.

For GTA 6, none of this is confirmed. Custom music is the most uncertain part, because GTA 6 is announced only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and a PC version is Not announced. Console games rarely let players import their own audio files. If Self Radio returns on console, it would most likely rely on a streaming service integration, and Rockstar has not announced one.

Updates could add stations after launch

GTA V’s radio dial kept growing years after release, mainly through GTA Online updates. Stations such as The Lab, Blonded Los Santos 97.8 FM, Los Santos Underground Radio, Kult FM and MOTOMAMI Los Santos all arrived after the original launch. Some licensed songs were also removed from later versions as licenses expired, which is a quieter side of how Rockstar manages music over a game’s life.

If GTA 6 follows that model, the launch-day dial is a starting point. Fixes and tweaks to music delivery could also show up in the “gta 6 launch patch” that most players will download on day one.

Audio will take up serious storage

Licensed music, multiple stations, talk radio and full voiced DJ segments add up. GTA V’s audio library was already large on PS3 and Xbox 360. A modern game with more stations and higher-quality audio will need more space. Rockstar has not published the size of GTA 6, but our “gta 6 file size” tracker will flag official numbers as soon as preload details appear in store listings.

GTA radio history across the series

The radio is one of the series’ signatures. Here is how the dial evolved in the main 3D-era entries, using launch versions.

Game Year Setting Stations at launch Stations fans still talk about
GTA III 2001 Liberty City 9 (including talk station Chatterbox FM) Flashback 95.6, Head Radio, Lips 106
GTA Vice City 2002 Vice City (1986) 9 (including talk stations VCPR and K-Chat) Flash FM, V-Rock, Wave 103, Fever 105, Emotion 98.3
GTA San Andreas 2004 San Andreas (1992) 11 (including talk station WCTR) Radio Los Santos, K-DST, K-Rose, Radio X, Playback FM
GTA IV 2008 Liberty City 19 (including talk stations) The Vibe 98.8, Liberty Rock Radio, Vladivostok FM, The Journey
GTA V 2013 Los Santos and Blaine County 15 music plus 2 talk stations on PS3 and Xbox 360 Non-Stop-Pop FM, Los Santos Rock Radio, West Coast Classics, FlyLo FM
GTA VI 2026 Leonida and Vice City Not announced Not announced

Some notes on the table. The handheld and Stories entries, including Vice City Stories (2006), had their own station lineups that we have left out for clarity. The Definitive Edition remasters of the trilogy released in 2021 removed some songs from the Vice City and San Andreas soundtracks because of licensing, so the radio you hear today in those two games may not match the original release, while GTA III’s remaster kept its full original soundtrack.

GTA V’s station count also rose over time through console generations and GTA Online updates. GTA V Enhanced, the upgraded PC version released in March 2025, carries the expanded dial rather than the 2013 launch lineup.

What the history tells us about GTA 6

Two trends stand out. Station counts rose sharply once storage stopped being a hard limit, going from 9 in 2001 to 19 in 2008. And Rockstar started mixing licensed catalog music with commissioned, curated stations, such as Flying Lotus hosting FlyLo FM in GTA V.

GTA 6 is Rockstar’s first new mainline GTA built for current-generation consoles from the start. We expect a dial at least as large as GTA IV’s, with a mix of licensed classics, contemporary tracks and in-universe music tied to the story. The exact number remains Not announced, and any specific figure you see quoted is a guess.

GTA 6 soundtrack album, vinyl and CD editions

No official GTA 6 soundtrack album exists, and none has been announced. The same goes for vinyl and CD editions. There is no pre-order for any physical music release tied to GTA 6 from Rockstar or a record label.

That said, Rockstar has released soundtrack albums before. GTA V received an official multi-volume soundtrack release in 2013 that mixed licensed tracks with original material from the game. Vice City got a widely sold box set of its radio stations back in 2002. Given those precedents, an official album or vinyl run is plausible. We would expect any announcement to come close to launch or shortly after, once tracklists are public.

Be careful with listings that appear before then. Third-party marketplaces sometimes post “GTA 6 soundtrack vinyl” or “official GTA 6 CD” products that are either bootlegs, compilation albums of trailer songs, or outright scams. Without a Rockstar or label announcement, treat these as unofficial.

How trailer songs move the charts

A muscular man is seen from behind wearing a floral Hawaiian shirt and cream trousers, standing in front of a metal grate.

Both trailers had a measurable effect on the songs they used. After Trailer 1, coverage pointed to a rise in streams for “Love Is a Long Road” that brought a 1989 album track back into public conversation. “Hot Together” saw the same pattern after Trailer 2.

That effect gives Rockstar leverage in music licensing. A GTA placement can introduce a decades-old track to millions of younger listeners. For artists still active, it is promotion few campaigns can match. For estates and catalog owners, it is a revenue boost on recordings that might otherwise sit idle.

It also explains Rockstar’s song choices. By picking album cuts over greatest hits, the studio gets songs that feel fresh to most viewers and turns the trailer itself into a discovery moment. We expect the same approach when the full GTA 6 radio stations are revealed.

Where this fits with launch timing

GTA 6 has moved twice. Rockstar first targeted fall 2025, then confirmed 26 May 2026 in May 2025, and in November 2025 moved the game to 19 November 2026. Our “gta 6 delay” tracker follows every signal on whether that date holds, and our “release date for gta 6” page covers the confirmed date and platforms.

For radio specifically, the timing matters because the music reveal is likely to come late. Rockstar tends to hold detailed feature breakdowns for the final months before launch. The full station list may only become public through official previews or once “gta 6 reviews” go live, since reviewers will have played with the whole dial. Pricing is a separate question that our “gta 6 price” coverage tracks; Rockstar has not announced it.

Community projects are also worth watching. The fans behind “gta 6 mapping” efforts comb trailers and screenshots for billboards, signage and in-world branding, and radio station ads are exactly the kind of detail those teams catch first. Anything they find is community-grade until Rockstar confirms it.

FAQ

How many radio stations will GTA 6 have?

Rockstar has not announced a number. Any specific count you see online comes from fan speculation or anonymous posts with no evidence. Based on GTA IV’s 19 stations and GTA V’s growth over time, we expect a large dial, but the figure is Not announced.

What songs are confirmed for GTA 6?

Two songs are confirmed through official trailers. Trailer 1 used “Love Is a Long Road” by Tom Petty, and Trailer 2 used “Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters. Neither is officially confirmed as an in-game radio track yet, though Rockstar’s history makes that likely.

Will Flash FM or V-Rock return in GTA 6?

Not announced. Both stations come from the original Vice City, and Rockstar has reused station brands before, so a return is plausible. Treat any claim that they are confirmed as fan speculation.

Can you skip songs on GTA 6 radio?

Rockstar has not confirmed radio features. In GTA V, standard stations do not allow skipping, while Self Radio does. Whether GTA 6 includes a similar mode is Not announced.

Will GTA 6 support custom music?

Not announced. GTA V’s custom music feature works on PC, and GTA 6 is currently announced only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version has not been announced.

Is there a GTA 6 soundtrack album or vinyl?

No. Rockstar has not announced any soundtrack album, vinyl or CD. Products claiming to be official GTA 6 soundtrack releases are unofficial unless Rockstar or a record label announces them.

Are the GTA 6 radio player websites real?

They are fan projects. Some offer enjoyable mixes and concept stations, but none use an official tracklist, because Rockstar has not published one.

Who are Real Dimez in GTA 6?

Real Dimez are a fictional rap duo, Bae-Luxe and Roxy, introduced on Rockstar’s official GTA VI website. They are tied to Dre’Quan Priest’s label, Only Raw Records. Rockstar has not said whether their music will play on in-game radio.

Marcus Reed

Marcus Reed runs the GTA 6 desk at RockstarSpy. His beat is everything attached to the next game: release windows, launch details, official trailers, platform plans and the steady drip of leaks that fills the gap between Rockstar announcements. He treats every claim as a question of sourcing first. A Take-Two earnings call or a Rockstar Newswire post gets reported as fact. A datamine or a tipster with a mixed record gets labeled as such. When a story shifts, he updates the piece and says what changed rather than quietly rewriting it. Readers should always be able to tell what is confirmed and what is still talk.
